The All Age service has already become something of a special event at St Philips because it features the junior choir and is followed by the bake sale, however, we are working on making it even better. Erica led a parent’s meeting last month in which we focused on the role of our younger parishioners in the all age service. A number of suggestions were put forward including:
- Preparation with the children to enable them to make a musical contribution to the service.
- Devising related activities for the children during the service.
- Extending the parents rota to include parent helpers at the all age service.
Do you have any suggestions for the all age services? If so have a chat to Erica or David. Our next all age service (complete with Junior Choir and Bake sale) is on the 15th June.
If you are in year 6 or above, come and join us at St Philip’s Church for a free movie night. The film will be “Life of Pi”. A young man survives a disaster at sea and is hurtled into an epic journey of adventure and discovery. While cast away, he forms an amazing and unexpected connection with another survivor…a fearsome Bengal tiger. Come at 5pm grab a slice and find out what happens to him.
You are invited to the annual general meeting of the Kensington Council of Churches on Tuesday 10th June 2014, at 7.00pm. It is at St Mary Abbot’s Vicarage Garden (if wet in the Centre’s Long Room, St Mary Abbot’s Centre Vicarage Gate). Vicarage Gate is off Kensington Church Street. There will be “Bring and Share” refreshments for after the meeting.
