It was a great pleasure to see many of you at St Philip’s on Remembrance Sunday. Not only was it a lovely service, both in the Church itself and also as we connected with a much wider congregation at the Cenotaph service, but it was my first Sunday back after having had my second hip replacement.
I said thank you to those who were there on that Sunday, but would also like to extend those thanks to anyone who was not there, for all the emails, phone calls, visits and flowers and, most of all, the prayers which I know were offered for my recovery. Before I went off, someone said “What can we pray for for you? “ Mindful of all the things that can go wrong in operations and afterwards, I asked for “An uneventful recovery, please!” That prayer has been answered, and I am very grateful to all of you who took the time and trouble to remember me over those six weeks. It’s good to be back!
